2005 - 2009 Highlights
The mission of the SISTA/SISTA Conference is to enrich women spiritually and emotionally so that they may be prepared to execute our God-given assignments. However, as all women know, we occasionally neglect to nurture ourselves as we ought. As such, how can we expect to commit ourselves to work in God’s vineyard if our inner vineyard is in a state of disrepair? Our conferences are designed to enable the Women of God to resolve this issue.
Here are some brief conference highlights from prior years that will demonstrate how God has blessed us to move forward in order to perfect His will in our lives.
2006 launched our inaugural SISTA/SISTA conference with an emphasis on prayer and its power over the works of darkness! Mother Lue Ethel Smith, Assistant Supervisor, Illinois Southeast Jurisdiction, conducted a powerful Prayer Clinic. Our inaugural theme: I Thessolonians 5:23: 1+1= Unity: “2 working Together As 1.”
2007 we continued to build upon the foundation that is Jesus Christ. Our God is faithful and once again we were able to include less privileged women in our conference due to the love and generosity of SISTA SISTA. An important feature of our SISTA SISTA Conference is outreach—extending a loving embrace to women who are in need physically and spiritually and showing them Christ such that they may conquer any obstacles they face in life.
2008 brought us wonderfully enriching topics for the whole woman: “Spiritual Health Awareness”; “My Purpose; Your Purpose”; “Faith, Fact, and Feeling”; “Finance In The Kingdom”; “Unity And The Love Of God”; “Walking In Holiness”; “Physical Health Awareness”; “Women Of Excellence”; “God Promised”; “Do You Have What It Takes To Make It Into Heaven?”; and “What It Means To Pray Through.” Our theme: “Women Embracing God’s Purpose.” The scripture for our theme originated from Romans 8:28.
2009 Sisters in the church sharing their life stories topics covered were; overcoming molestation, alcoholism, drugs, fornication, living as unmarried partner. Girl Talk My Story shared the stories of deliverance from alcoholism drugs, fornication, and open heart surgery at a young age. Overcoming obstacles by giving their loves to JESUS, going to college, and becoming home owners. GOD really blessed these ladies and touched their lives. Testimony of GOD delivering a woman after having open heart surgery; Within a short period of time her daughter was shot in the stomach with a 9 mm. the doctor said the hole they closed was the size of a grapefruit. This daughter and mother are walking around today alive and well. GOD is AWESOME! There is nothing HE can’t fix. Sister Linda Sheppard of Rochester, MN enlightened our heart with the story of Hannah” we all should be like Hannah awaiting the opportunity to be in the presence of GOD.
The next morning opened with 6:00 AM prayer Lead by Elder Sammie Cline. God met us there! We departed for breakfast at 7:00 AM and back at 9:00 AM for Morning Manna where praise and worship and testimonies were shared of GOD’s greatness. Mother Harris spoke into the lives of her daughters’ wisdom from Heaven. The bread of life was broken from these powerful Women of God. Pastor Mary Milton, Evangelist Helen Cline, Sister Carolyn Kummula, Prophetess Cerise Lewis , Mother Mary Harris and Mother Greta Moss many others imparted the word of God into our hearts.
